THE comeback continues!

Not satisfied with slots at most of the world's major festivals in 2016, including Glastonbury and our very own Common People and Bestival, a handful of new hits and the announcement of a world tour next year, Craig David is back on the awards trail.

The veteran garage star, who grew up in Southampton, is continuing his blazing comeback by earning two major MOBO Awards nominations for Best Male and Best Song for When The Bassline Drops (featuring Big Narstie).

Retweeting the announcement, Craig said to his more than 350,000 followers: "What a time to be alive! Congratulations to everyone nominated."

The RnB superstar won a raft of MOBO awards during his 00s heyday including a hat-trick of awards as a 19-year-old following the release of Re-Rewind with Artful Dodger and Fill Me In, his solo debut.

Now he's up against Kano, Skepta, Tinie Tempah and Stormzy for Best Male Act and his huge hit with Big Narstie will compete against the likes of Girls Like, Wobble and Funny.

The MOBO awards have been celebrating music of black origin since 1996.

This year's winners will be announced at a special ceremony in Glasgow on November 4.
