WILD about whiskey?

Then Southampton’s newest festival is one for you.

An exciting event for any casual or serious fans of scotch, bourbon, whiskey and cocktails, The Whiskey Affair takes place at The Stage Door in West Marlands Road on Saturday, November 19.

Enjoy a lively night out where you can discover new brands and blends.

Alongside live music and representatives from the brands, the event will include tasting sessions, free samples from a number of new brands and an array of spectacular moonshines from the guys at Shine London.

Even friends with no interest in whiskey can sample the cocktail menu and still enjoy the night. With variety ranging from smooth bourbons to spiced whiskies, they may even change their mind!

Organiser Catherine Jackson told the Daily Echo: “Back when I started my affair with whiskey, I had so many friends who were knowledgeable about different whiskeys and I was often lost as to where to start. I wanted to dip my toe into the differences and similarities within the brands and learn how to judge which finishes and ages suited my tastes more but I wanted to do so with friends and have a good night out at the same time.

“There are some wonderful, smaller independent distillers involved next to household names so there is a true mix of brands to sample. We’ll have wonderful live music and speakers to provide our entertainment for the evening and a photo booth will allow a permanent (and occasionally risqué!) memory of the night.

“It’s going to be great fun and we can’t wait to share it!”

The Whiskey Affair is a festival that started in London last November, aimed at every level of knowledge, for whiskey aficionados and beginners alike.

Following events in Brighton, Guildford and Reading, the Southampton organisers are looking forward to returning to their home city.

Tickets, priced £10, are available now from thewhiskeyaffair.co.uk.
