JOIN one of comedy’s fiercest talents as he tries to make sense of life having just made a new one.

Russell Brand's new stand up tour Re:Birth visits Mayflower Theatre on Tuesday.

The new dad asks what is real? Who are we? Where did this baby come from?

Expect to see him wrestle with these questions while unravelling the matrix of modern media, politics, sex, fatherhood and death.

The controversial comedian told the Daily Echo: " It is about how I’ve been personally reborn as a result of the birth of my daughter. But it’s also about whether or not there is a thing that you can call your ‘essential self’, how you can get in contact with it, and how you find your way to the truth of who you are.

"I think that if you’re a parent and you come to see this show the story of the birth of my daughter will be resonant.

It changes how I think of the world; the fact that she is my daughter changes the way I think about gender. And being a father is a massive download, it is a massive reboot.

"It’s the equivalent of when you turn off your computer by pulling the plug out instead of shutting it down the proper way – it’s like you’ve turned it off by tipping water on it.

"My whole head feels different and unusual – it has inspired loads of different thoughts.

Clips in the show include Brand on Paxman, outside Downing Street and Donald Trump criticising him.

Brand even talks about how it feels to be a reformed womaniser in a monogamous relationship.

Since rising to fame in 2003, Russell Brand has established himself as one of one of the world’s most celebrated stand-up comedians. His acclaimed tours include 2006’s Shame, 2007’s Only Joking, 2009’s Scandalous and 2013’s Messiah Complex.

Aside from stand-up, he is also a successful broadcaster, actor, author, podcaster, columnist, political commentator as well as a mental health and drug rehabilitation activist.

Very limited tickets for the show remain.
