ON Tuesday May 16 Mayflower Theatre welcomes Breakin’ Convention, the world's biggest festival of hip hop dance theatre.
The two-day event will showcase the very best of this dance genre from around the world as well as local talent.
Curated and hosted by UK hip hop pioneer Jonzi D, this is an awe inspiring production of exceptional performances from world champion b-boy crews to cutting edge street dance companies - live on stage.
This year’s line-up includes South Korean super crew of poppers and b-boys Just Dance whose performance includes live Korean drumming; Canadian urban contemporary duo Tentacle Tribe; and Soweto Skeleton Movers who perform comedic contortionism fused with Pantsula, a style from their native South Africa.

Confirmed line-up for Wednesday:Bboy Josh, South Coast Collabo, Just Street Dance School, Annie Harfield and Claire Hough, DFA
Spilling off stage and taking over the whole building, dance workshops, graffiti, DJs, and freestyle sessions will make Breakin’ Convention an unforgettable experience for all the family.
Pre-Show Events
From 5pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday come and join in various activities, taster sessions and all things Hip Hop to get you in the mood before Breakin' Convention take to the stage.
Activities include:

Rap and MC workshops with local rap artist Tenchoo who will also be performing with Jonzi D

Grafitti Art Workshops
