A WEEK long celebration of art, film and music will see more than 30 unique screenings at Southampton’s Showcase Cinema de Lux from tomorrow.

There’s a Saturday late night screening of the iconic Jaws. A restored 4K print of Woody Allen’s Manhattan will be shown with a special introduction by Dr Shelley Cobb, the associate director of English & Film at the University of Southampton. Will Ferrell will be making his way back to the big screen for a screening of the comedy Anchorman, where guests can channel their inner Ron Burgundy with free moustaches. A classic Laurel & Hardy double bill will have the UK’s leading impersonators at the screening to pose for pictures with fans.

To finish the week, British film director Iain Softley will be at the cinema to present his classic Hackers, staring Angelina Jolie, as well as taking part in a live Q&A with film critic Mark Kermode.

Music lovers will have an array of events to choose from, including Take That’s Wonderland Live concert direct from the 02 and the Chemical Brothers concert film Don’t Think.

Young film fans can enjoy, the new Bob the Builder: Mega Machines that sees Bob, Scoop, Muck & Lofty embark on their biggest build ever. Fireman Sam will be at the cinema on Sunday morning to greet his fans before they watch Fireman Sam: Alien Alert, featuring the voice of David Tennant.
