SOUTHAMPTON’S rising stars Wild Front release a new single on Friday and will play another world famous festival later this month.

Fresh from opening the Isle of Wight’s Big Top Stage on Sunday, frontman Jack Williams, lead guitarist Joe Connell, bassist Mike Flowers and drummer Josh Betteridge have revealed that Physics will be the first track from their new EP of the same name.

And last week Radio One’s Phil Taggart announced that BBC Introducing are taking them to Glastonbury where they’ll join twenty other acts tipped for the top including The Sherlocks, Folley Rae and Matt Maltese.

All the sets, including their Saturday June 24 performance, will be live streamed at bbc.co.uk/glastonbury for fans who can’t make it to Worthy Farm.

It’s still under two years since the lads first played together as Wild Front at The Joiners, but in that time they’ve released six singles and been championed by BBC Introducing in the South on Saturday nights with Stephanie Nieuwenhuys. Previous single Rico aired on Radio One on Boxing Day.

At Isle of Wight the band were first on the festival’s second stage before The Amazons, The Sherlocks, The Undertones and headliners The Strypes took over.

Closer to home Wild Front play Smoked and Uncut festival at The Pig, Brockenhurst on Sunday July 9 and Bestival at Lulworth Castle on Saturday September 9.
