A COMEDY show featuring the biggest and best acts on the circuit is returning to Southampton.

Following more than 10 years of sold-out shows at Nuffield Southampton Theatres, The Comedy Bar: Big Gig is back on Saturday (July 8) for another side-splitting show, hosted by Rob Rouse, star of Ben Elton’s BBC sitcom Upstart Crow.

This year’s line-up includes Ivo Graham (Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo and Virtually Famous), the youngest ever winner of the prestigious comedy award So You Think You’re Funny? and Chortle Award nominee for Best Newcomer.

Ivo has performed critically acclaimed sold out solo shows at London’s Soho Theatre and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Joining Ivo on stage is Chortle Award-winning comic Phil Wang (Live At The Apollo, Would I Lie To You? and Comedy Central’s Live At The Comedy Store).

Also performing is Tom Allen, fresh from his sold out run at London’s Soho Theatre and supporting Sarah Millican on her UK, Australia and New Zealand tour (Channel 4’s Comedy Gala, The John Bishop Show and E4’s Virtually Famous).

Actor, radio presenter and touring comic Rob Rouse oversee proceedings as MC.

The Big Gig is part of a wider programme of one-night-only comedy events from NST that includes funny man Phill Jupitus, who will take to the stage at NST Campus in September to smash laughs out of the chaos of his own life and the uncertain world that surrounds it.

Comedy powerhouse and star of Taskmaster, Live At The Apollo and Stand Up for the Week Paul Chowdry will visit Southampton as part of his 2017 UK stand-up tour Live Innit in October.

Luisa Omielan, hailed by The Guardian as “one of the biggest stand up hits of the last decade”, will also bring her smash hit show to NST Campus later this year.

Comedy tickets are available from the Box Office 023 8067 1771 or online at nstheatres.co.uk.
