STEPHEN King’s infamous thriller Carrie, immortalised in the classic 1970s Brian De Palma film, is given the musical treatment in CCADS Theatre's stage adaptation that thrilled audiences on and off Broadway.

Next week it plays one of its very first UK runs since the revised version premiere made its acclaimed UK premiere at London’s Southwark Playhouse in 2015.

It will be at Station Theatre, West Town, Hayling Island from Tuesday September 5- Saturday September 9.

Multi award-winning CCADS Theatre bring this thrilling piece to life within the intimacy of Hayling’s Station Theatre in a brand new production that promises to immerse its audiences in a visceral, immediate re-telling of this iconic tale, timed to co-incidentally with the celebrations this month of Stephen King’s 70th birthday. ‘Carrie’ was the prolific author’s first published novel back in 1974 and this production hits the stage in the same week that a new film version of his ‘It’ is released in UK cinemas.

The CCADS production features a 16 – strong cast of well known and award-winning local talent headed by Coral Hutchesson as Carrie, Sue Rourke as Margaret, her overbearing mother, with Lauren Kempton, Alex Hillman, Charlotte Thomas, Perry Ralls & Kerry McCrohon amongst others with CCADS Artistic Director John-Paul McCrohon at the helm and with Darren Alderton leading a six – piece band in the show’s high impact score.

Fans of ‘Carrie’ in all its incarnations will be delighted to see the indelible moments from the book and film given new vigour onstage whilst newcomers to the story will discover a piece as poignant and universal as it is unsettling and raw.
