SINGER and broadcaster Aled Jones’s Hampshire show this week has been postponed following sexual harassment claims.

The Songs of Praise presenter has been suspended by the BBC pending an investigation into claims that he sent inappropriate messages to a female colleague.

It was thought his special one-off headline concert in Eastleigh would go ahead as planned on Friday.

But the Concorde Club has now confirmed that Aled – who shot to fame as a choirboy in the 1980s with his rendition of Walking in the Air from The Snowman – has rescheduled for December 2.

A spokesman said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances Aled has had to reschedule his date. All ticket holders have been notified and their tickets transferred. Apologies for the inconvenience.”

One of the nation’s best known TV faces, he did not appear in the Christmas and New Year episodes of Songs of Praise and The Hairy Bikers’ cookery show.

The Welsh singer, TV and radio presenter was just 12 years old when he became one of the world’s most successful boy sopranos, releasing 12 hit albums in four years.

Since the 80s he has made more than 30 albums.

Aled’s wide ranging broadcasting career also includes Cash In The Attic, Daybreak and Going Back Giving Back. In 2004 he starred in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

His latest album, One Voice: Believe sees him duet with his younger self as well as with his 12-year-old son Lucas.

Refunds are available for customers not able to make the new date.
