This weekend, Southampton dance company ZoieLogic Dance Theatre is to showcase a storming performance at the opening of the new city centre theatre, NST City, as it announces its arrival as the only resident dance theatre company.

ZoieLogic Dance Theatre has firmly cemented itself in Southampton’s cultural quarter and is the only company asked to create a performance at the launch.

Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST) is to officially open the new venue with free live entertainment and family activities in a two-day event this weekend called ‘Southampton Celebrates’ with ZoieLogic Dance Theatre’s exciting performance opening the event at 6.30pm this evening.

Founder Zoie Golding said: “We wanted to get as many people involved as possible and celebrate the work we do in local communities, so we’ve created a performance to remember with 130 people from communities across Southampton, a Ford car and fireworks.

“Our connection and affinity with Southampton is really important to us and we are delighted to be chosen as the only resident dance company at NST City and to be at the heart of the new arts complex and cultural quarter.”

Founded by Southampton based Artistic Director Zoie in 2011, Zoielogic Dance Theatre is the only dance theatre company solely committed to getting men dancing. This follows Zoie’s original company of FuzzyLogic Male Youth Dance which started in 2001.

Over the past 10 years Zoielogic Dance Theatre has changed lives through dance and entertained thousands of theatre-goers. Many of its alumni have gone on to international dance fame.

Zoie said of Zoielogic Dance Theatre’s ethos: “We believe in the power of physical movement and challenging the perception of what male dance means to the masses. We feel this philosophy will result in our outreach programmes and theatre shows continuing to grow in popularity. Our move to NST as resident dance company is the catalyst for this.”
