Then why not join the Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery – a group of enthusiasts interested in the history, wildlife and maintenance of the Old Cemetery – guide John Vetterlein for a ramble around the cemetery on Sunday at 2pm as he points out what’s happening with the wildlife and butterflies in the many different areas which help them to thrive. The event is free and family friendly, but some areas of the cemetery are not accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs. The guide will make allowances for this on the day and can vary the route to some degree. Well-behaved dogs, on leads, are welcome.
