STREET to The Point, The Point’s resident street theatre company made up of senior youth theatre members, is getting ready to embark on a UK tour.

Now in its sixth year, Street to The Point have announced they will tour four street theatre pieces to festivals across June and July, including Bedlam Fair, Bath Fringe Eastleigh Unwrapped Guildford Fringe Festival Winchester Hat Fair and Hedge End Carnival.

Company Mentor Holly Scott said: “I am very much looking forward to Street to The Point’s summer tour and watching the performances come to life on local streets and in towns further afield.

“It’s been a brilliant experience to work with the young members of the company on a more collaborative level.

“We are particularly excited to be given a new opportunity to perform as part of the Winchester Hat Fair weekend, for the first time this year, as well as revisit festivals which have become annual and anticipated events.”

The company fuses comedy with thought-provoking social themes – this season choosing to focus on homelessness and stress in a new and original way.

Through the use of movement, music and fabric, presented in a collection of roaming and static pieces, Street to The Point will engage with members of the public to present original works that have been devised by company members.

Street to The Point is a collective of young people aged 14 to 18, years old who are passionate about theatre.

The company was first created to encourage and support the development of young people, giving them freedom to create, devise and present original theatre works, and has since grown to see this tour as their biggest yet.

The company will perform at Eastleigh Unwrapped on Saturday June 23, alongside a host of world-class artists working in circus, theatre and dance.
