TONIGHT at 7pm at the 1865 in Southampton, Wille and the Bandits will be hosting a charity concert to raise money for cancer charity, PLANETS, featuring many musical friends, including the legends Show of Hands featuring Steve Knightly (MBE) and Phil Beer who have sold out the Royal Albert Hall three times and are British folk superstars.

Joining them will be the young superstar Dan Owen who is the prodigy of Mick Fleetwood and currently clogging up Radio 2 airwaves.

Wille and the Bandits are a British-based band who play a variety of different genres spanning across the blues, rock, Latin and folk styles. They consits of Wille Edwards, Matthew Brooks and Andrew Naumann.

In January 2007 Wille lost his Mum to liver cancer.

Her memory and this loss was the sentiment behind the song that defines the award winning band – Angel, a 16-minute instrumental, which ebbs and flows with emotion, drawing you in and ending with a Pink Floyd-esque climax.

Neil Pearce – the surgeon who tried to save Wille’s Mum, Elizabeth Edwards,is one of Southampton’s top consultants and set up PLANETS charity, dedicated to defeating pancreas, liver, abdominal and neuroendocrine tumours, which supports the hospital’s pioneering work in treatment, research and education.

The money raised will enable PLANETS to further develop innovative cancer care through research and the introduction of new treatments.

Patients will have increased chances of beating this disease and enhancing their quality of life.

PLANETS is more than just another local cancer charity, it is transforming the way we approach the fight against cancer across the South Coast.

With such a stellar line up this event is sure to sell out.

Tickets are £20 in advance and £22 on the door. Doors open at 7pm. To book, visit: www.seetickets.com/tour/a-night-in-aid-of-planets-charity.
