THE search for a budding model to be this year’s Miss Southampton is coming to an end.
Women have until tomorrow to enter the competition A shortlist of the 30 will be put forward for the live final at Oceana nightclub in Southampton hosted by Strictly Come Dancing Star Camilla Dallerup on May 15.
The winner will then go on to the national title of Miss England and if successful then be sent around the globe as part of the Miss World tour.
Backed by the Mayor of Southampton Councillor Liz Mizon, the final will also feature BBC TV weather presenter Reham Khan as a judge.
Reigning Miss Southampton Natalie Salmon, 19, pictured, said the title had allowed her to meet people she might never have met otherwise.
She added: “As a Saints fan, going to the club to meet the guys was absolutely inspiring along with gaining my entry into Miss England where I met other girls in my position who were absolutely lovely.”
Entrants must be aged between 17 and 24 and cannot be married or have children.

Reality-man wrote:don't know about discrimination, but in some area of the city you'd be lucky to find a woman aged between 17 and 24 without children! ha ha
'cannot be married or have children'? I'm surprised in todays society that they can get away with that. Discrimination surely?
