Celebrities join in Saints' promotion celebrations

Music legends and celebrities have joined in the celebrations of Saints’ promotion to the Premier League.

Saints fan and drummer for Coldplay, Will Champion, spoke of his delight on social network Twitter.

He said: “Congratulations to the Saints, back where we belong, at last.”

Gavin and Stacey star James Corden, who supports West Ham, also passed on his congratulations to the team.

He said: “Congratulations to Southampton, they deserve to go up, been brilliant all season. I hope we join you next season!”

Isle of Wight DJ and Bestival organiser Rob Da Bank said he had been celebrating the victory in a pub yesterday.

He added: “Pitch invasion da bank jr style! Premiership here we come :)”

There were jubilant scenes throughout the city yesterday as Saints fans rejoiced in going up to the Premier League.

The team secured promotion with a 4-0 victory against Coventry at St Mary’s.
