HAMPSHIRE’S Apprentice hopeful Ricky Martin has survived another week in the hit TV show despite being project manager of the losing team.

The 26-year-old wrestler, from Stubbington, below, avoided being fired by Lord Sugar in the latest task where the teams had to market English sparkling wine.

Millions of viewers watched as Ricky planned a weddingthemed advert, where the bride chooses English fizz over champagne.

However team member Jenna Whittingham ended up taking the blame for making the advert “too cheesy” when she based it on her dream wedding.

The 25-year-old beauty salon owner from Lancashire insisted on booking a throne for the bride, insisting “the more eyecatching it is, the more people are going to look at it. When I get married I want a throne”.

Lord Sugar did not agree and fired her.

Meanwhile the Hampshire inventor hired by Lord Sugar as his Apprentice last year is set to be the show’s most successful winner.

Tom Pellereau, who grew up in Alresford and whose parents live in Swarraton, released a range of his revolutionary curved nail files to the market seven weeks ago and it has flown off the shelves.

The 32-year-old former Twyford School pupil, above, designed the Stylefile long before he won the £250,000 investment from the famous entrepreneur and it has been Sainsbury’s top selling beauty accessory for six weeks and is now available in Boots.
