IT WILL be an afternoon filled with inside stories and unheard anecdotes about everything from classic TV series The Saint and The Persuaders to Hollywood blockbusters and the James Bond films.

For legendary film star Sir Roger Moore is coming to Southampton’s Mayflower theatre to discuss his astonishing life and career live on stage.

The Afternoon With...appearance in October will coincide with the release of his new book, Bond On Bond.

Sir Roger has been a national institution since the early 1970s.

His numerous TV and film roles made him a household name, his fame sealed by his seven-film run as James Bond.

Sir Roger has been to The Mayflower before – in 1973, when it was The Gaumont, for a regional film premiere of the Bond film Live and Let Die.

He was honoured with a CBE in 1999 and became Sir Roger Moore with a KBE in 2003 for his charity work, primarily as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Tickets are likely to sell fast, so early booking is recommended.

They go on sale today.

An Afternoon With Sir Roger Moore is at The Mayflower on Tuesday, October 16 at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost £25.
