WELL they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

It will have to be seen to be believed, but apparently reality TV is really going down the pan this time – with a loo documentary.

Yes, as there’s no other place on earth the cameras have not yet been, filming has now begun on a one-off documentary which gives an insight into the goings on in nightclub toilets in JJ Whispers in Crawley.

My first thought was that this sounds worryingly like a crown court case I once covered in my days as a cub reporter.

But, on reflection, the little girl’s room does tend to be the focal point of drama on a night out.

Some ladies seem to spend almost their entire evening gossiping by the hand dryers.

I’ve seen boyfriends dumped on more than one occasion and there’s always at least one person crying their eyes out and being consoled in the cubicle.

That’s not to mention the drugs, sex and rock ’n’ roll.

It’s not always a hive of activity though. My husband once nodded off on the toilet in a London nightspot, woke to find the place locked up and had to burst out through the fire exit!

But even if it is a haven of hearsay, I’m still not sure I want to be filmed going to the bathroom to spend a penny.

Surely this is one of the few places left you can go without being watched constantly.

But, despite the demise of reality TV, Big Brother is alive and well and living in a bog in West Sussex.
