WE all have our off days – some more than most.

And it was a bad day in the office for one Aussie newsroom this week as a televised interview with reality TV star Khloe Kardashian. pictured was cut short after the subject strayed onto her niece North, the daughter of her sister Kim and partner Kanye West.

Sunrise blamed her ‘people’ and, while denying she had pulled the plug, did nothing to help her case by launching a foul-mouthed rant aimed at the breakfast show.

A truly awkward interview is painful to watch – think Meg Ryan’s uncomfortable stint on Parky’s sofa, Kerry Katona slurring her words, Paris Hilton throwing a showbiz strop when asked if her 15 minutes of fame were up and pretty much anything involving either Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise or the BBC’s Bill Turnbull.

But, believe me, if watching them makes you cringe, being a part of them is ten times worse.

I’ve been lucky enough to interview hundreds of celebrities from A list to Z list and everything in between.

Almost without fail they’ve got something to promote and couldn’t be nicer.

But there are exceptions to every rule and they’re not always as friendly as they seem when they flash their smiles on the red carpet.

I’ve been given a list of ridiculous demands by Jordan, upset Suzanne Shaw by talking about Darren Day and had Toyah Willcox rudely refuse to answer any innocuous questions about her singing career.

I’ve bored Marti Pellow on more than one occasion and been told to go to the bottom of the class by Honor Blackman.

One of the best was when I had Neil Diamond in tears, reflecting on what might have been if he wasn’t famous.

Awkward, but good fun as well.

After all, it’s not every day a celebrity insults you – or blubs on you!
