Have they all got left feet?

IT’S official. Big Brother housemates are a talentless bunch.

You may wonder why it has taken me so long to realise this. And I admit, it has crossed my mind during previous series of the show, which I used to rather like but has over the years become tiresome to the point of tedium.

Even the most well-known contestants in recent series – Nikki and Pete, Michelle and Stuart, Chantelle and Ziggy, Sam and Amanda, Lisa and Mario to name but a few of the show’s bizarre pairings – don’t seem to have any discernible talent beyond being capable of staying in a house for several weeks at a time.

But this year’s group, unfortunate to be placed in what is surely the least watched and hopefully last Big Brother of all time, are even worse.

One of them is called Halfwit and that, for me, says it all.

I can hardly bear to watch it, but did tune in this week when told the contestants were to be performing Me Ol’ Bamboo from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which I attempted when the cast appeared at The Mayflower in the summer of 2007.

Now I cannot dance. I have no rhythm and only got involved because I thought it would be fun and the editor made me! But under the expert tuition of the cast, I managed to perform a segment of the dance in about an hour or so.

The Big Brother lot have been learning the dance all week, with nothing else to do, and are even worse than me.

Just don’t ask me to remember the dance when Chitty returns next year, I could fail even more miserably than those I am labelling talentless!
