THEATRE, puppetry and circus all help to make the summer season at The Point and The Berry Theatre fun for all the family.

A host of children’s shows are being lined up throughout the summer months with something for all ages.

An innovative retelling of the Three Little Pigs, which opened the season at The Berry Theatre, Hedge End yesterday is followed by a host of other treats.

Arthur’s Dream Boat on July 23 will also delight younger members of the family. Presented by Long Nose Puppets the show promises to be full of magic as Arthur takes you on a journey in his own magical dream boat that is growing on his head.

And Jack and the Beanstalk will be given a new twist on July 5 in a one man show presented by Lyngo Theatre. The show promises to be full of surprises with something for everyone.

For older children two classic stories are reworked this summer at The Berry Theatre.

In Alice it’s 1915 and while bombs rain down outside Alice Hargreaves takes refuge in her dusty cellar where she rediscovers her childhood among the old tennis racquets and moth eaten christening gowns. Meanwhile across in Europe her son Alan, a World War I soldier, makes his own imaginary journey down the rabbit hole.

Metta Theatre presents this wonderful adaptation of Alice in Wonderland on May 24.

A tale from the Second World War comes to the Hedge End venue in June. Carrie’s War is presented by Apollo Theatre Company and tells of evacuee Carrie Willow and her brother Nick‘s adventures in a small Welsh village. Carrie’s war is on at The Berry Theatre on June 27.

Saturday Storytime also returns to The Berry Theatre this summer.

Join magical, musical storytellers today, on June 7 and 28 and July 19 for a fun morning in the story garden.

And back for the summer is the Comedy Club 4 Kids, an afternoon of cracking entertainment for chil¬ dren aged six and up on June 28.

Over at The Point in Eastleigh, award winning Travelling Light and Bristol Old Vic present an enchanting piece of dance theatre on June 28. How Cold My Toes, takes audiences through four seasons in just one hour from the seed sprouting vitality of spring to frosty frozen fingers of winter.
