A MOUNTAIN of books are needed to help build the set for the latest production by members of two Eastleigh youth groups.
The Point Youth Theatre and the Point Youth Dance Company are coming together this summer for a new piece, Shhh!!.
Set in what appears to be an abandoned old library its two main characters find themselves in a world of mystery and magic, where stories spring to life from the dusty tomes that line the shelves.
But to help set the scene for the production, group leaders are appealing for donations of unwanted books.
Daniel Hill, drama development manager at The Point, said: “Shhh!! is going to be a fantastic production full of enchanting storytelling and magical movement.
“But to make it extra-special we are appealing for anyone with unwanted books to drop them off at The Point so we can use them to create the set.
“The more books we receive the better to enable us to recreate a library here on the stage of The Point.”
He said once the play was over, the plan was to donate the books to local charities.
Shhh!! is on at The Point on July 25 and 26.
