HE is often dubbed the “Scouse Springsteen” and was a huge favourite of the legendary late DJ John Peel.

Now Ian Prowse will bring his band Amsterdam to The Joiners in Southampton for an evening of rousing rock and roll.

His appearance at the Southampton venue on November 8 ties in with the release of his single Lest We Forget, which commemorates the 100-year anniversary of the Battle of Ypres.

The single is taken from Who Loves Ya Baby, |his first ever solo album, and he has described the song as “a real Liverpool song for a real Liverpool girl”.

Prowse is best known for his work as main man with the groups Pele in the 90s and one of his most famous songs, Does This Train Stop On Merseyside, was a favourite of John Peel’s and was even featured on his last ever Festive Fifty.
