What I like about recent pantomimes is that every company delivers their unique 'take' on the story.

Audience-participation is a pre-requisite, so having half of the seats given over to 'Scout Night' gave director Jan Hylands' cast an opportunity they didn't miss.

The banter between Madame Gotalot (Nadine Redman), her ugly-daughters Jemima (Nathan Webb) and Priscilla (Dan Cox) and the youngest members of the audience was a delight.

The problem of finding a dress for Cinderella was met with 'go to Next at Whiteley' from one tot.

Chenille Thyme and Amy Manwaring made a most attractive, talented, couple as Cinders and Prince Charming and Kevin Fraser (Buttons) was particularly funny.

Alan James (King), Steve Harris (Chef), Dan Cox (Chamberlain) were also strong, the latter sharing the credit for inventive choreography with confident Fairy Godmother, Rose Malyon.

The set and props worked very well, always skilfully changed, with colourful costumes. Fun!
