HAMPSHIRE will become a slightly funnier place when a new comedy club opens next month.

Professional comic circuit The Comedy Club will be opening at the Ampfield Golf and Country Club near Winchester.

It has provided work for some of today’s top stand-ups, including Michael McIntyre, Jimmy Carr, Al Murray and Jason Manford, and is showcasing three top comedians for its opening night on Friday, March 13.

Aberdonian compere Dave Whitney will be firing up the set from 9pm before impressionist and beat boxer Stefano Paolini takes to the stage at the Winchester Road venue.

The headline act is a charismatically challenged uncle and his mute nephew, The Raymond & Mr Timpkins Revue, pictured.

Doors open 7pm.
