THE swashbuckling all male musical The Pirates of Penzance heads to Theatre Royal Winchester next week.

From the company who brought the triumphant HMS Pinafore to the venue last year, comes an exquisitely funny take on the much-loved Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.

Sasha Regan’s award-winning production was received with huge critical acclaim during its London run.

The tale of a child apprenticed to a band of tender hearted, orphaned pirates was an immediate triumph for Gilbert and Sullivan and remains their most popular and successful work.

This version interprets the tale in a magnificent, swashbuckling tour de force.

With its ‘riotously inventive’ (The Times) interpretation, audiences can expect to be astonished by the vocal accomplishment of the all male cast as they execute the female and male roles to perfection with voices ranging from falsetto to bass.

The Pirates of Penzance runs from Monday to Saturday.
