Winchester’s Theatre Royal hosts a vibrant dance spectacle performed by students from the University of Winchester and Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, USA, later this week (May 19-20).
The showcase is a culmination of a collaboration which has seen dance and choreography students participate in exchange visits between the two universities.
Cathy Seago, Programme Leader for Choreography and Dance at the University of Winchester, commented “While we each specialise in distinct areas of dance practice, we share an ethos and our dance programmes complement each other.
The performances promise a programme of dance set to an eclectic mix of sounds – from classical and chamber music to more modern urban and electronic styles.
“We are very excited to be hosting eleven Shenandoah University students who are currently rehearsing with our Winchester students to develop this exciting dance project. The performance is based on ideas that focus around relating to and supporting each other, and absence,” added Cathy.
