SALISBURY Arts Centre is gearing up for the return of children’s theatre company Ripstop Theatre on Saturday 4 July with an adventure on the high seas.

A Real Mermaid’s Tale follows intrepid explorer Amelia Buttersnap on a journey full of magic, puppetry and mutinous rats suitable for children aged three and over.

Following the success of A Real Fairy Story last year, this new show from Ripstop Theatre continues Amelia’s quest to find evidence of hidden and magical creatures.

A Real Mermaid’s Tale is created and performed by Zannie Fraser, written and directed by Bob Percy with music composed by Chris Ashton.

Zannie has been making and performing shadow puppet shows for children for the past 17 years. During this time she has worked with such companies as Trestle Theatre, Norwich Puppet Theatre and The Little Angel Theatre.

A Real Mermaid’s Tale takes place on July 4 at 11am and 2pm.
