WITH imagination, ingenuity and a certain artistic flair, the essence of the Lion King’s pridelands was rather successfully recreated in a Hampshire school hall.

The production values were of the highest order, with beautifully crafted costumes, great make up and superb set design.

The musical direction and choreography were first class.

Directors Carrie Lee and Arabella Brodrick have created a cleverly conceived and well paced show that managed all the complexities of a sizeable cast and constant scene changes with precision and aplomb.

Very much an ensemble piece, the performances rated as some of the best so far this year. Of particular mention are Alejandro Arguelles as a subtle villainous Scar, James Cotton and Jon Joe Flynn as Timon and Pumbaa, Luke Feechan as the noble Mufasa, Thandiwe Dube as Rafiki, and Sasha Davies as Nala.

This show was very much the sum of all its parts and enthralled and delighted its audience throughout.
