HAVING researched several YouTube versions of the show I was not filled with hope.
However, all doubts were dispelled upon seeing co-directors Rebecca Bailey, Teddy Clements and Kevin Jones had cast a veritable who’s-who of local talent.
The story in brief: a drought had prompted a water-shortage and the use of public toilets fell under the control of corrupt Caldwell (Mark Hill on-form).
The arrival of his daughter, Hope (an overdue return by the excellent Emma Bryant) and her unlikely relationship with cleaner Bobby Strong (the equally impressive Mike Alborough) forms the basis of the witty script.
Matt Sackman was very confident as the narrator, Officer Lockstock, with Georgie Nutt debuting well as Little Sally but everyone played their part.
Christina Finn’s vibrant choreography once again featured and Sam Dando led a fine quartet.
