Believe in Me
Dancewise Studios
The Point, Eastleigh
Dancewise Studios show last year celebrated their tenth anniversary. Since then they have considerably expanded their activities and this growing confidence and ambition certainly infused their new show.
Divided into four segments, two dramatic (Pandora's Box and Director's piece Believe in Me) counterbalanced by a segment celebrating musical legends and one interpreting Alice in Wonderland, this was a show of great range and style. As might be expected, there was fine choreography as well as a great use of music and digital backdrop. The dramatic pieces, in particular, were beautifully realised, but there was much to enjoy in all the segments.
Embracing inclusivity, the show included performers from tots to adults who exuded a love of dance that was wonderful to behold. Hannah Ranger (Pandora's Box) and Amelia Melton (Believe in Me) were particularly impressive showing great artistic ability and dramatic expression at its best.
