ELLIE Taylor, star of BBC2’s Mock the Week, BBC1’s The John Bishop Show, Radio 4’s The Now Show and C4’s 8 out of 10 Cats, opens her second UK tour Infidelliety in Fareham next week.

In this highly anticipated new show, Ellie discusses being trapped in a dreadfully happy marriage and wishing she’d slept with more people. It’s an hour’s musings on that pesky bit of marriage known as monogamy and what effect not having, what anthropologists would call ‘a slaggy period’, will have on her union. Needless to say, her husband’s delighted.

Ellie’s debut hour at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival, Elliementary, was a critically acclaimed hit, tackling all the hot potatoes of the time – Russian foreign policy, Matalan, Sinitta – hard-hitting topics delivered with guile by one of the hottest new acts around. The show was a total sell-out; leading to extra dates being added to the run and a subsequent debut UK tour with the same show.

Her additional TV credits include playing a lead role in new sitcom Brotherhood on Comedy Central and new Disney series The Lodge, as well as Drunk History (Comedy Central), As Yet Untitled (Dave) and Live at The Comedy Store (Comedy Central). She regularly appears on the most popular comedy shows on TV including Mock The Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats and on Radio 4 favourites The Now Show and Don’t Make Me Laugh. Ellie’s acting credits also include appearing alongside Christopher Guest and Chris O’Dowd in comedy series Family Tree (BBC2) and new Sky Atlantic’s new show Sicknote.

Earlier this year Ellie found herself at the centre of a national media storm having satirically taken on ‘The Motherhood Challenge’ – a viral Facebook campaign which saw users posting pictures that made them glad to be parents. Ellie’s take on the challenge was the ‘The Non-Motherhood Challenge’ featuring a montage of her asleep and hugging a bottle of red wine showcasing reasons she’s happy to not be a mum. Ellie’s image went on to receive widespread international coverage, and more importantly it annoyed her sister!

Tickets for the event, on Thursday, are available from hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk or 01329 223100.
