MASKERS performers are promising a Christmas anthology which will lift your spirits and bring you a touch of nostalgia.

It is late December 1957 – and the world is suddenly a very different place – the threat of nuclear war, Teddy Boys and, on the brighter side, television and Elvis Presley!

Sing along to some familiar and less familiar Christmas songs and laugh at the quirky tales and verse, all bound together with a collection of characters, each with their own story at Mistletoe Junction, their festive offering at Maskers Studio Theatre in Shirley from Monday to Saturday.

As our characters arrive in the waiting room of Mistletoe Junction, their own little stories begin to unfold – a secret affair, eloping lovers, a hopeful young actress and tales of escape and heroism.

Outside, it is a damp, foggy and cold December afternoon and, the frustrated travellers await the long overdue trains. Somehow, from a desire to pass the time, they are persuaded to reveal their favourite Christmas poems, songs and readings.

The production has been devised and directed by husband and wife team Brian and Angela Stansbridge.

50s dress is encouraged.
