It’s the morning of Fadinard and Helene’s wedding day and there’s flurry of excitement and preparations for the happy couple’s special day, but then disaster strikes!
An attractive lady shows up, followed by her irate lover. She is complaining that Fadinard’s horse has taken a bite out of her expensive Italian straw hat!
Fadinard has no choice but to set off in pursuit of a hat identical to the one his horse has eaten, with the carriages of his wedding guests hot on his heels. Many larger-than-life characters are met along the way as he lurches from one mishap to another.
Will the wedding go ahead? Will the hat be found? Will they live happily ever after?!
Hold on to your hat as the cast of An Italian Straw Hat dash around 19th century Paris and bump into a host of colourful characters on the way in what is sure to be the wedding of the year!
The slapstick comedy is brought to the Nuffield stage from Tuesday to Saturday by Maskers Theatre.
