AS the sensational hit musical Billy Elliott continues to bowl over audiences at The Mayflower Theatre the venue is offering aspiring dancers the opportunity to train with an original Billy!

In fact, there will be two fun workshops for young and old at Mayflower Theatre this February half term. A Mayflower Adventure based upon We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Dance with Layton exploring Billy Elliot with one of the original Billys.

Layton Williams, star of Bad Education, School For Stars and one of London’s West End original Billy’s is offering a fun and exciting workshop, exploring the music and dance of the extraordinary show Billy Elliot. Dance with Layton is on Wednesday February 22 at 10:00 – 11:30 (Age: 10-13) and 12:30 – 14:00 (14-17) and is a great opportunity to make new friends, work alongside actor and choreographer Layton and discuss his career.

A Mayflower Adventure will be run on Friday February 24 at 9.30am. Join Professor Hunch and his trusty side-kick Doctor Tongue-Tied on their adventure to find Skiff the Mayflower Theatre Bear. Whether a Cub, Mummy or Daddy discoverer, you can take part in fun and exciting activities whilst on a quest to find Skiff! Is he hiding somewhere in the theatre? Has he got lost? Can you find a trail? Professor Hunch and Doctor Tongue-Tied can only take 30 (adults included) per bear hunt so book early to be part of this entertaining journey!

The theatre’s Community and Education programme, Engage, has developed rapidly since 2013 and is key for putting participation at the heart of Mayflower Theatre’s business strategy.

The Engage department puts on many learning activities throughout the year including: Summer Youth Project, Workshops for Adults, Mayflower Theatre Tours, pre and post show talks and a variety of different workshops and an array of other events.
