ENCORE Youth Theatre hits the Theatre Royal Winchester stage with its production of Oklahoma next week.

The cast will be giving their ‘All or Nuthin’ as they perform crowd pleasers including Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’, Kansas City, Cain’t Say No, It’s a Scandal! It’s an Outrage!, People Will Say We’re in Love, The Farmer and the Cowman and many more.

Set in America’s Western Indian Territory just after the turn-of-the-20th-Century, the spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the dramatic backdrop for the love story between Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl.

Noel Jones, artistic director for Encore Youth Theatre said: "Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s iconic show, redefined the American musical landscape and rewrote the direction of musical theatre for decades after. Our Oklahoma! is a fresh and energetic version with a supremely talented cast of young people who have embraced this Broadway classic and made it their own. Do not miss out on what promises to be a highly entertaining evening out for all the family.”

Oklahoma runs from Wednesday to Saturday.

Tickets are available from theatreroyalwinchester.co.u or 01962 840440.

THE Portsmouth Players are back at the Kings Theatre this season with the hit musical: 9 to 5.

With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, it is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie, set just a few years before.

This hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss.

In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?
