THE cast of Annie, which opens at Ferneham Hall tonight, have a hard act to follow.
The last time Fareham Musical Society staged this production they received six Curtain Call nominations and won three awards, plus one of the young actresses playing Annie went on to be a star in the West End.
Katie Hartland played Annie in 2006 and ten years later she was performing the role of Baby in Dirty Dancing in a professional production.
This year's production, which runs until Saturday, sees Eleanor Wallace and Lottie Hall playing the same role at the same theatre as Katie.
"It wouldn't surprise me if these two young talented girls end up on a West End stage" says Graeme Clements who is playing Daddy Warbucks. "We have had several young actresses over the years join professional productions and we are very proud of them all, not least Katie who I remember very well stepping out as Annie 11 years ago."
Lottie and Eleanor have shaved Graeme's head in anticipation of him playing the famously bald Daddy Warbucks, the part made famous in the classic film by Albert Finney.
