STAGEWISE School for performing Arts take to the stage again at Christchurch Regent following their sell-out success with Cats last June.
This time they look set to dazzle with Andre Lloyd Webber’s and Tim Rice’s Broadway and West End smash hit musical, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Youth Group Production.
The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many “colors” comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Joseph, his father’s favourite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged.
The show features an exciting mix of musical styles, from country and western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n’ roll, making this Old Testament tale both timely and timeless! The unforgettable songs include Those Canaan Days, Close Every Door to Me and Any Dream Will Do.
This is an amateur youth production by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd.
Joseph is played by 14 year old Joe Weaver
Performances on Thursday 25 May 7pm, Friday 26 May 7pm, Saturday 27 May at the earlier time of 6pm with a Saturday Matinee at 2pm.
