SOUTHAMPTON Operatic Society returns to Nuffield Southampton Theatres tonight with The Pajama Game, a romantic comedy featuring musical standards such as Steam Heat, Hey There, Hernando’s Hideaway and Once-a-Year Day.

The story is set in 1950s America and the Sleep-Tite pajama factory, where the workers are desperate for a payrise. The skinflint boss won’t pay it and has hired a handsome new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, to keep the employees in check. Sid is happy to do exactly as he’s told – until he falls in love with the feisty union rep, Babe Williams.

The SOS line up includes Daniel Ferrett in the role of Sid and Susie Maycock as Babe. Daniel has worked as a vocalist for UK Holiday Parks, as Lead Male vocalist on Thomson Cruise Ships and is currently one half of the ‘Spotlight Duo’ group that entertains audiences across the South Coast. Susie is an equally seasoned performer, having trained in Musical Theatre at LCPA and, like Daniel, performed all over the world as an entertainer on cruise ships.

The Pajama Game runs from tonight until Saturday.
