STRICTLY Come Dancing champion Joanne Clifton is to strut her stuff like never before in Flashdance The Musical, which arrives at Mayflower Theatre next week.

The celebrated show has returned to the UK for the first time since 2011, starring the Strictly favourite and singer-songwriter Ben Adams of a1 fame.

The show, which tells the inspiring and unforgettable story of 18-year-old Alex, a welder by day and ‘flashdancer’ by night, who dreams of going to the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy and becoming a professional dancer, is on stage in Southampton from Wednesday to Saturday.

The iconic score includes the smash hits Maniac, Manhunt, Gloria, I Love Rock & Roll and the award-winning title track Flashdance - What a Feeling.

Strictly Come Dancing Champion Joanne Clifton is World & European Champion ballroom dancer, and is one of very few pro dancers to have won both the main Strictly glitter ball with Ore Oduba last year and the Christmas Special in 2015 with Harry Judd.

Ben Adams, the former frontman of a1 and now a successful songwriter and producer, will appear as Nick Hurley, Alex's love interest.

Flashdance on stage is based on the 1983 classic directed by Adrian Lyne. It was the first collaboration between producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer and, despite being panned by critics, went to to gross more than $100 million worldwide.
