A HIT in Edinburgh, Toronto and Auckland, New Zealander Penny Ashton brings her hilarious take on the Jane Austen commemorations to three Hampshire venues this autumn.

Join Miss Elspeth as she battles literary snobbery, cousin Horatio’s digestions and her mother’s nerves, armed only with a blushing countenance, excellent ukulele skills and being quite bright, you know... for a girl.

In this hysterical one woman show, Promise and Promiscuity, the talented Penny tackles all of Austen’s characters with song, dance and appalling cross-stitching.

In the year of the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s death, celebrate her life with the fifth great niece of Austen’s own flirtation, Thomas Langlois Lefroy, in an irreverent yet fond reimagining of one of the world’s most beloved authors.

Penny Ashton has performed more than500 solo shows all over the world. She has represented New Zealand in Theatresports and Performance Poetry and has performed at Glastonbury and the Jane Austen Festival in Bath.

The award-winning show visits Theatre Royal Winchester on October 16, Ashcroft Arts Centre in Fareham on October 18 and Forest Arts Centre in New Milton on October 20.
