Award-winning theatre company New Old Friends heads to Theatre Royal Winchester this weekend with their comedy thriller, Crimes Under the Sun.

Inspired by Agatha Christie, 39 Steps and Film Noir, this is a hilarious, yet murderous trip, to a classic English Riviera retreat.

The show features just four actors playing multiple outrageous characters, and a plot that races along in a romp. It promises to be a fantastic night at the theatre for fans of thrillers and comedy alike.

The story focuses on former actress turned diver Abigail Peavey, and her alleged infidelity and subsequent murder.

The play takes place on a secluded island hotel, and with the guests temporarily cut off from the mainland will the murderer strike again before Belgian detectiv,e Artemis Arinae, can solve the case?

A versatile cast of four play a wide variety of roles with a wider variety of accents, bringing huge energy and invention to this mystery.

Celebrating their 10th birthday in 2018, New Old Friends are an award-winning theatre company dedicated to creating original comedy theatre, run by husband and wife team Heather Westwell and Feargus Woods Dunlop who produce, write and perform in their productions. The production is directed by James Farrell (Associate Director of the West End production of 39 Steps).

The combination of a whodunnit thriller, star-crossed lovers and laugh-out-loud moments make this a perfect evening out for almost any occasion.
