THE Lady Boys of Bankok are getting ready to perform at Portsmouth's New Theatre Royal on Thursday for one night only!

The UK’s number one cabaret production was created for a one off appearance at the Edinburgh Festival in 1998 after a small production was seen by producers Carol and Phillip Gandey in Pattaya 22 years ago.

The logistics and idea of bringing 16 Male Thai nationals, who happen to look like beautiful girls, into the UK was quite daunting but soon became the new project for Cheshire based Gandey World Class Productions – creators and producers of the Chinese State Circus, The Spirit Of The Horse, Cirque Surreal and for nearly 100 years the UK’s largest touring human circus, Gandeys.

Now seen by over 2,000,000 people, the show has grown in size and strength to claim the crown of the UK’s favourite touring cabaret show – this incredible spectacular touring production appears in the UK in its own purpose built pink pavilion, complete with bars and a Thai restaurant seating over 400 people in a cabaret style theatre environment.

This exciting theatrical experience is now an annual event in many cities and attracts a huge diverse mixed audience from all walks of life and age groups who come to watch amazing choreographed dance routines and over 400 stunning sequined costumes in a dazzling two hour show performed by the most beautiful stunning showgirls in the world...who just happen to be boys, and a "grumpy dwarf" from Oldham!

Trevor Jones, one of Peter Kay’s regular sidekicks and star of the original Star Wars films has been with Gandey World Class Productions for nearly forty years and is a firm favourite with the audiences as the only non Thai cast member.
