COME rain or shine, Poulner Players next production is Glorious! And it’s showing until tomorrow at Poulner Scouts Hall, Southampton Road.

A sparkling comedy based on the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York socialite, who, though being the most appalling soprano, manages to attract a cult following, supported by a devoted circle of friends.

The play by Peter Quilter was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2005 when Maureen Lipman took the title role. It later inspired the 2016 film Florence Foster Jenkins, starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.

For this Poulner Players production, the leading roles are played by Lucie Evans, Steven Reynolds, Julie Lax and Steve Russell.

This hilarious yet heart-warming play is suitable for audiences of all ages.

Performed in the half round you are never more than 3 rows from the stage and both back and middle rows of seats will be raised ensuring a good view for all. Book now at: www.poulnerplayers.com.

Profits from the front of house sales from this production will be donated to the charity New Forest Nightstop, helping homeless people get to safe accommodation.
