Seasons Greetings, Cheriton Players, Cheriton Village Hall

SHARED memories, over indulging, presents, classic films, family gatherings around the Christmas tree…what could possibly go wrong?!

The company gelled brilliantly together, novice and experienced alike, with David Cradduck’s outstanding comic timing and delivery, Caroline Holley’s seamless emotional transitions and fabulous characterisation and Richard Perkins’ terrific portrayal of the hapless medic/puppeteer, among the stand-out performances.

Barbara Large’s excellent direction ensured a first-rate romp through the holiday period: the set was demarcated into separate downstairs areas and Large made tremendous use of that, directing natural action by all throughout the play even when the focus was in a different room, adding truth and integrity to the performances, all delivered at a cracking pace. Creative use of lighting was highly commendable in a cramped village hall and the props were an integral part of the action; the puppet show was hilarious!

“Maybe family gatherings should come with a health warning”

– unlike this highly entertaining production!
