THERE’S just under a week left for amateur drama groups and schools across the south to enter the All England One Act Theatre Festival.

For the first time in three decades, the quarter, semi and English final of the festival are being held in the south, close to Totton where the Hampshire round of the contest takes place.

Round one is at Hanger Farm Arts Centre from March 20 to 23 with subsequent rounds at Shaftesbury Arts Centre in April, the Athenaeum in Warminster in May and Christchurch’s Regents Centre in June.

Plays need to be between 20 and 55 minutes in duration, have a minimum of two speaking parts and can be of any genre. The festival is a celebration of drama.

The winner will go on to represent England at the British finals in Ireland.
