A country house, 1923: a body is discovered in an apparently simple case of murder, but with a series of unfortunate deaths (increasing the body count whilst decreasing the number of suspects), secret passages, moving corpses and remarkably similar female inhabitants, Inspector Drake and Sergeant Plod must employ all their wits to solve the case...
It quickly became obvious that this comedy is a highly entertaining spoof of traditional detective thrillers, full of corny jokes, doubleentendres and hilarious visual gags. Barry Kitchen’s first-rate direction ensured slick pace, great comic timing and movement around the stage throughout.
The trio of actors were tremendous fun. Colin Carter gave a sterling performance as the incomparable detective, Jon Morgan was excellent as his bumbling side-kick and Kate Robbins demonstrated terrific skill while playing all eight female roles. Extremely good props, sound effects and set complemented the performances. This was great entertainment!
