PANTOMIMES in local village halls occasionally leave a reviewer struggling to mention many of the performers in a positive light, so it was a pleasant problem, on returning home, to find myself trying to decide which of this talented cast I would single-out.

Firstly, Jon Morgan was brilliant as Dame Dollop and deserves this early credit as much for his brilliant set-design and construction (with Chris Shehan) as for his charismatic performance.

Emily Sandoval was confident in the title role and her duet with the beautiful, talented, Kate Robbins (Caroline) was a highlight.

Louisa Asquith and Mark Woodcock were lively as Kate Cuddlesome and Billy Bumpkin, James Gould and Peter Burton (Nick and Nab, the comedy-policemen) and Philip Laurence (Mr X) were also excellent.

Rachel Craig directed and choreographed a visually appealing show that had no problem in getting the sizeable audience up on its’ feet, singing, stamping and laughing throughout.

The cast of this pantomime stood – and delivered!
