Julia (Fiona Trezise) is left with mental and physical scars after a road accident in which her lover dies. Her besotted handyman, Gary (Tom Fisher) and counsellor Anne (Louise Hayes) attempt to help Julia through this difficult time.
Soon on the scene comes the grieving widow, Margaret (Angela Torrini), ostensibly to also offer her support and requesting details of her husband’s last moments. However, it soon becomes clear that she is a force of darkness and begins the slow process of exacting revenge.
The numerically small cast kept the audience in suspense throughout despite the frequent interruptions of the numerous black-outs that denoted the passing of time. Julia was convincing in her manifestation of a guilt complex followed by the effects from the medication. Margaret was all sweetness and light hiding the malevolence within. Gary and Anne were plausibly portrayed in their respective roles. June Witham’s directorial efforts were appreciated by the first night audience.
