A précised adaptation of Jane Austen's novel about the five Bennet sisters in Georgian England, whose lives are turned upside down by wealthy (Bingley) and his best friend (Darcy).

Pam Lippiett’s excellent direction ensured a production that flowed seamlessly between scenes and a perfect balance between slick pace and purposeful pauses or interruptions. Amongst the very talented cast (where every gesture and dialogue delivery was full of intent and meaning) were notable performances by Jennie Rawling (heroine Lizzie), Nick Rickard (hero Darcy), Lauren Haskett (flighty Lydia), David Lippiett (benevolent, long-suffering Mr Bennet), Leigh Cunningham (kindly Jane), Alistair Smyth (charming Bingley) and Sheila Birt (highly-strung Mrs Bennet).

The super period costumes added a splash of colour against a completely black set, enhanced by atmospheric lighting and sound effects, while polished acting and direction totally captured the essence of the novel’s individual characters as they were brought to life from the page to the stage.
